The SMARTFOLD BRAILLE is the specialized version of our SmartFold in 650- and 800-mm formats, designed for the pharmaceutical industry and other regulated environments where precise, consistent, and standard-compliant Braille is essential. It incorporates an inline Braille application module capable of embossing Braille directly during folding and gluing, in a single pass and at speeds of up to 250 m/min, maintaining a uniform and fully controlled embossing pattern.
Unlike the traditional method—applying Braille to the die—the inline system drastically reduces setup times and eliminates dependence on die-cutting. Changing the Braille plate takes less than 10 minutes, enabling agile production even for short runs or frequent design changes.
The machine can be configured with one or two Braille modules, depending on whether the customer needs to apply Braille to one side or both sides of the box. Each Braille wheel moves horizontally from right to left and can be positioned exactly where needed, offering maximum flexibility for any pharmaceutical packaging design.
